Local non-profit helps community members prevent eviction
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (August 15, 2018) – According to the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts, landlords filed more than 30,000 eviction notices in Mecklenburg County last fiscal year, which ended on June 30. That’s an increase of almost 1,000 from the previous year.
WFAE has been running a series about the rising evictions in Mecklenburg County. The station recently interviewed Community Link Chief Program Officer, Harold Rice, along with other community leaders who are helping tenants prevent getting evicted from their homes.
